Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church offers many different opportunities for returning our gifts of time and talent to God. As stewards of God-given skills and abilities, volunteering in a ministry or organization provides a way to thank God, share our faith with others, and enhance our community.
If you have the time, talent and desire to volunteer at Most Holy Trinity, please use the contact information associated with the individual ministries listed below to reach out and let us know you are interested.
"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone."
1 Corinthians 12:4-6
Altar Servers
This ministry provides members of the parish with a true opportunity to function as lay ministers by reverently assisting the celebrant and/or deacon during Sunday Mass and at special liturgies throughout the year. If you wish to consider this ministry, please contact the church office at 936-594-6664.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God clearly and understandably so that all who hear may respond.
If you wish to consider this ministry, please contact the church office at 936-594-6664.
Musicians
The Ministry of Music provides music during weekend Masses, holy days, weddings, funerals and Reconciliation services. Parishioners are invited to share their musical talents with the rest of the congregation through this ministry. If you wish to consider this ministry, please contact the church office at 936-594-6664.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
These lay people are sometimes referred to as Eucharistic Ministers. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve by bringing communion to parishioners who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or in their own homes and unable to get to church. They also may assist the priest in distributing the Eucharist at Mass. If you wish to consider this ministry, please contact the church office at 936-594-6664.
Ushers
These ministers are sometimes referred to as Greeters. Being a welcoming community is very important to us. Ushers are the first face of the parish. They greet those coming into our church, offer assistance to those in need, distribute parish bulletins, take up the collection, and distribute other materials as needed. If you wish to consider this ministry, please contact the church office at 936-594-6664.
Sacristans
Sacristans assist, facilitate, and provide support and coordination for other liturgical ministries. In addition, they make the necessary preparations for liturgical activities. If you wish to consider this ministry, please contact the church office at 936-594-6664.
Stephen Ministry“Stephen Ministry is a ministry in which trained and supervised lay caregivers, called Stephen Ministers, walk with others during difficult times. The role of the Stephen Minister is to listen and care, to help the care receiver work through the situation and develop their own ways of helping themselves - not to cure, or counsel." If you are interested in having a Stephen Minister, becoming a Stephen Minister or have any questions, you can contact Marjory Pulvino directly at (936) 438-7950. At this time our parish needs additional men and women to serve as Stephen Ministers.
Youth Ministry
The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Youth Group provides a program for the youth of the parish to learn and grow with Jesus Christ and the Catholic Faith. Clck here for more information.
Most Holy Trinity is a united community where we care for one another. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we believe it is our duty to pray for each other's needs. For this reason, we publish a prayer list in the Sunday bulletin every week with the names of the parishioners that need our prayers. If you would like to add the name of a loved one to our prayer list, please call the church office at 936-594-6664 or email your request to [email protected].
Prayer Quilt Ministry
Members of the previous Ladies' Guild at Most Holy Trinity initiated the Prayer Quilt Ministry in 2006. Some ladies in the parish have continued crafting the mini-quilts as the need/desire has expanded for their use. The distribution of the Prayer Quilts reaches far beyond our own parish to family members and friends of parishoners everywhere.
Church Flowers
The Altar at Most Holy Trinity is often embellished with flower arrangements provided by members of the parish. Everyone is welcome to participate. If you want to acknowledge a memorial or special occasion, there is a signup calendar/list in the church foyer.
During the Christmas and Easter seasons donations can be made to help cover the cost of arrangements used throughout the church. Forms and envelopes are available prior to Advent and Lent for these special occasions. If you would like more information, please contact Keeker Wright (832) 444-3403 or Iris Alaniz( 713) 253-6221.
Sanctuary Lamp
As we enter the church, the sanctuary lamp reminds us of Christ's Eucharistic presence in the tabernacle. The sanctuary lamp shows Catholics that Jesus is present in the tabernacle through the Mystery of Transsubstantiation during the Consecration at Mass. It is illuminated 24 hours a day. You may sponsor the Sanctuary Candle for special intentions or memorials on a weekly basis for $10.00. Your donation may be dropped in the offering basket or at the church office on Thursdays and Fridays.
Mass Intentions
Because the Mass is the highest form of worship on Earth, there are many graces received when you have a Mass said. Your intention might be in thanksgiving, for celebrations or as a memorial for a deceased loved one. Mass intention envelopes are available in the foyer of the church and can be placed in the offering basket or at the church office. Donation request is $5.00
